Who Won? You or the Sun

Are you competitive? I sure am and this time of year really gets me moving.

  • School is back in full swing.
  • The days are getting shorter.
  • The morning commute is getting longer.
  • Football is back on TV and baseball pennant races are heating up.

The next three months, from Labor Day through Thanksgiving, are the most productive business months of the year. My friend and coach Mike Weinberg, the New Sales Coach, calls this selling season. Whether you’re in sales or not it’s the next few months will undoubtedly be crammed with activity that moves your business forward. It’s just time to get the job done.

That said, nothing is making it easier and no one is giving you an extra couple of hours each day. You have to make that happen your self. For me, and most people I know, means cranking the alarm clock back an and getting the juices flowing earlier in the day.

I have to admit that there is something special about seeing a sunrise through my kitchen window from behind my laptop. It’s like I know that I’ve gotten drop on the day.  A head start on everyone else. The other thing I know is that genius happens before sunrise.
